Serving Kankakee Since 1915
Rotary is a global network of 1.2 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves. Rotarians provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through our fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders.
The first Rotary Club was formed when attorney Paul P. Harris called together a meeting of three business acquaintances in downtown Chicago, on February 23, 1905.
The Rotary Club of Kankakee was chartered on July 1, 1915—at the time, there were only a handful of clubs across the world. Countless residents of the Kankakee area have been members of the club since the charter was signed, all working to better their community and contributing to worldwide Rotary projects.
Today, as Kankakee looks to a future of development and continued enrichment of our community, so does the Rotary Club of Kankakee.
We meet on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month at 6pm, at El Mexicano Restaurant 503 Riverstone Pkwy. Kankakee, IL 60901 . We openly invite anyone who would like to learn more about our club to stop by for a good meal and conversation.
Of the things we think, say or do…
- Is it the TRUTH?
- Is it FAIR to all concerned?
- Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
- Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?”

The Rotary Club of Kankakee would like to invite you to participate in a FUN opportunity to reach out to the community! Since 2016, the Rotary Club has hosted a life-size Community Monopoly Game! The festivities take place at the downtown Kankakee Farmer’s Market at the corner of Schuyler Ave. and Station Street. We were able to give away over $1,000 to local non-profit organizations, and raise $900 for local projects!
We plan to hold this event again on Saturday August 5, 2023 at 9:30am. We are enlisting local businesses and people to help us make our annual event an even bigger success!
